with cystocele and rectocele: Q: do the intestine decend to the pelvic area?

Once the hysterectomy is performed due to a uterine prolaspe do the intestines move downwards because everything has been removed?

Uterus, cervix, ovaries, the works are being removed.

Bitter sweet emotions regarding the surgery. Bitter = pain and possible problems!

sweet - everything will be over with, I'll move on in a positive light and heal. I'll be able to exercise again and keep in myself in good form!

Live life to the fullest

Hi Oka058,

It is my understanding that your intestines rest on top of your uterus, so when your uterus is removed, your intestines will shift a little.

My understanding is that your intestines will move over and take the place of where your uterus once was.

This is a difficult and emotional surgery. You sound like you have a positive attitude, and will make it through. This web site will be able to assist you. Post often as needed.

Good luck to you. (((HUGS)))
