Question about pillow for tummy
Members have spoken about having/using a small pillow to hold over the abdomen and I think to protect tummy from the seat belt on the ride home. I was wondering how big a pillow are we talking about here? I have two weeks to go before my TVH and was planning to make it rather than spending the money on one. I have oodles of fabric and poly stuffing here, so no reason to buy one if I don't have to. I guess what I need is just an idea for measurements.
I guess I'm getting nervous about the whole thing and keeping busy does help.
Thanks

Re: Question about pillow for tummy
I just grabbed a small throw pillow out off my bed, didn't buy anything. It worked pretty well.
Good luck!

Re: Question about pillow for tummy
Thank you. I don't really have throw pillows, but that does give me an idea what size to make.
Now to get DH to put the sewing machine on the table for me.....

Re: Question about pillow for tummy
Any small pillow will do but I did buy a travel pillow for $2.99.
I also used it when I had to cough, sneeze & get up from sitting on the couch.

Re: Question about pillow for tummy
I found a uterus shaped pillow from an online website which I embellished with embroidery "stitches" and am still using that throughout the day. DH calls it my wubbie; it's both comfort and protection. I didn't "need" it but it's been quite a help and she brings a smile to people's faces when they realize what it is!
She's about 9"X12", not terribly large, and only a couple of inches thick. If you have fleece scraps, those would work perfectly. You just want something soft that you can use to apply counter pressure when laughing or coughing, and as a buffer for the seat belt. Even minimally invasive surgery patients benefit from some cushioning as there may be tenderness or bruising. And it gives you a great reason to sew!

Re: Question about pillow for tummy
Thank you all. This helps tremendously. I do have fleece scraps, and cotton, and......well you know. ;-) I love fabric. Any way, I can cut my fabric and when DH gets home I'll have him put the machine on the table. It's quite heavy and he gets upset if I don't ask him to do that for me.
Thanks
