T minus 3 days, officially teary.

Using work as the distractor my diVinci date snuck up on me and is Friday. I have been teary all day. I am officially scared and worried about a zillion details that really make no difference (like is laundry caught up enough to get the fam through?) A bit surprised at the emotional barrage of stuff that has surfaced. NO ONE around me is talking about it outloud. Hoping for a quick bounce back but afraid I have overestimated. Just ugh. Thanks to many who have posted all the questions I haven't stopped to ask. Safety in sisters.

Awww.. I know how your feeling. My LAVH is Thursday & I'm officially a basket case. Lol. I think it's just in our nature to worry about the minor details like laundry & stuff. I am catching up all my laundry tomorrow to try to keep my mind busy. My thoughts are with you!

Re: T minus 3 days, officially teary.

I was a complete mess before my surgery. Most of us are. It's a really difficult time, and is probably the hardest part of all this. Just try to keep busy and hug your family alot. Find comfort in the fact you're doing the right thing for yourself and you'll be on the road to feeling better.

Re: T minus 3 days, officially teary.

Hang in there girls! Everything will be just fine! I had my Davinci 2 1/2mths. Ago and I feel terrific! I don't even think about it anymore! No pain, back to normal, I would say. Give yourself a good 4weeks to start feeling like yourself again. 6wks. I was good to go! You will be sore, but let others help you all they want! And rest, rest, rest. Soon it will all be a distant memory! Good luck! :-)

Girl, you just cry, cry, cry!
Crying is very healthy!

The emotions are there, and they want to be dealt with.
Crying is a GREAT release.

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I have tears about every other day.

Go and get your nails done! (that's what I will do a few days out!)

You can come on here and chat with women all you need to!

It is going to be okay!

Re: T minus 3 days, officially teary.

I cried for days before my surgery. I cried as I was going into surgery. i had a wonderful Anesthesologist who was a women and she held my hand and wiped my tears. And assured me it was normal and everything would be ok. Crying is natural for this. So cry and let others hug you and talk about it. Its ok.

Re: T minus 3 days, officially teary.

I cried so much too cried all the way to the hospital, and all the way into the OR. The two nurses who tried to start my IV felt so sorry for me. The anesthetist wasn't too sympathetic I cried and said "I want to go home" and he said "I want to go home too". I thought, ya what reproductive organ are they pulling out of your body today?!

Re: T minus 3 days, officially teary.

Boy, he needed a smack, didn't he.

I was a mess when I first made the decision but over the weeks I have turned my focus more towards enjoying my time off. Im a single working Mom with an extremely busy life and this will be my excuse to stop and catch my breath. Ive bought puzzle, ceramics to paint.

My favorite doctor, my podiatrist has surgeries that day so he is coming in to see me beforehand, Ive had 5 other surgeries and I requested my favorite anesthesiologists. He's a big gentle giant. He has just a great bedside manner, he gives me a valium just before they head me down the hall, and the two surgeries Ive had with him Ive come out of it in good shape, no nausea..good to go.

Ive done all I can to prepare, now I just trust in my doctor. She's a great lady and I trust our decision and know in my heart Ill be ok. We BOTH will

Re: T minus 3 days, officially teary.

I cried too- the week and half before surgery when I found out and then all the way into the operating room... till I was put under. My doctor said that it is normal for women to cry when something like this is happening- it is like a loss because women identify with "our sexual organs"- all I knew was that I felt like I was losing me- and cried even after surgery. Wish you the best...
