Heavy uterus, lower back pain
Does anyone else feel like their uterus is "heavy" and experience lower back pain due to this? On days where I've had more activity than others (which is very little activity any way), my lower back really aches! I feel like a pregnant woman "waddling" around! I am guessing that my back compensates from the weight in the front. On days where I just sit around, I have little pain. If I had "wheels" for my uterus, I guess my back wouldn't hurt. Seriously though, I do have an enlarged uterus with many fibroids, so I am assuming this may contribute to the back pain. Anyone else with a big uterus walking around with back pain? I am so glad my surgery is next week, because it is getting harder to drag my body around!

Re: Heavy uterus, lower back pain
Absolutely. I actually had an MRI last week just to rule out spinal issues causing back pain. I have suspected adenomyosis - of which back pain is not uncommon. Hope the surgery clears that pain up in no time at all!!

Re: Heavy uterus, lower back pain
I have the same feeling when I'm pretty active during the day, very heavy/full feeling and more of the falling out feeling (I have a prolapsed uterus & a rectocele). At the end of the day I feel like I can't stand up straight and my back hurts like all get out and I get some swelly belly going on. I am so looking forward to no longer feeling like this!

Re: Heavy uterus, lower back pain
I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy March 29, found that uterus was enlarged, and there were fibroids. I had been complaining for years about severe pain, and bleeding was out of control.
Glad we went through with surgery, as back pain has been resolved. I'm at the 6 month mark, have strength, ans energy back. Can walk without pain and am feeling more like myself than I have in 10 years.
Good luck ladies! There is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry, doc found adenomyosis. Enlarged to 4ize of 6 months. Phew what a relief it was to actually know why I suffered so badly.

Re: Heavy uterus, lower back pain
6 months, wow! After my laparoscopy, the surgeon told me that my uterus was abnormally enlarged. I wish I'd asked her just how much. I think everyone but me will be surprised with what they actually determine after the hyst. I am glad to hear you are doing so well 6 mos out. Mine is in Nov and I'm lookin forward to spending most of summer 2012 at the pool.

Re: Heavy uterus, lower back pain
Girl, I feel pregnant every day!
It's a weird feeling.
Not dealing too much with back pain.
But the sonogram did confirm an enlarged uterus.
Hang in there!
