Surgery Date Changed!

When I was at the doctor's office on Monday, they told me to plan on a date of October 11th. Thankfully, once they got it scheduled it turns out to be on Novemeber 1st. At first I felt a little bit of a let down followed by a huge sigh of relief. 2 weeks didn't feel like nearly enough time to do all that I think I need to get done! I have to notify teachers, see what I can to to keep from falling behind. Prepare my 3 little ones for what is going to be happening, and arrange care for them (well for my youngest during the day and then after school when my other 2 children get home). Figure out what days my hubby can take off and arrange for some help for myself as well. 2 weeks felt breakneck-this feels more doable. I have however discovered that though I've kind of known this was coming and am thrilled to dare dream of a life without pain, that I'm somehow emotional about this. I had my tubes tied almost 5 years ago, never regretted it, still don't want any more kids. I don't think it will make me less of a woman. My periods are killer yet when I told my husband that I just realized that I was having my last period ever I got all choked up (I mean really-who in their right mind would miss getting their period?). What's the deal with all of this? I feel so contradictory because I'm really ok and at peace with this yet I'm super emotional about it. Oye! Thanks for letting me vent

Re: Surgery Date Changed!

I can understand what your going through. My GYN sent me to see an GYN/ONC and when I go to my car like you I broke down. I think it is an emotional feeling we are just going through. Like finding out we are pregrant, we start to walk differently because we have this new sense of life. Your okay, and just take it one day at a time. I am just now getting relaxed about my 11/7 date which I had to reschedule from 9/19.

Re: Surgery Date Changed!

I'm glad that you're getting comfortable with your big day! I hope it goes great for you! I think you're right, I just have this new sense of life, I wonder what it will be like when this is finally over. I also think part of it may be that though I'm ok with this, I'm ready for it to happen, I'm just sad that it has to come to this. We'll be alright! Best wishes and best of luck to you!
