I'm pretty new to all of this and I'm not familiar with some of the terms I've seen alot. What is a DH? Is there a place on this site that I can look for definitions?

Re: terminology?

You’ll find a list of abbreviations used on this site by clicking on the "Quick Links" tab, on the right of the purple bar towards the top of every page, or by clicking here.

Hope this helps!

Re: terminology?

I guess us 'newbies' have a lot to learn. I picked up on the DH pretty quick, but some of the other terms are 'head scratchers'. I will definitely look at the site to learn the terms .

Re: terminology?

DD=dear daughter
DH=dear husband (although some, not mine, arent so dear unfortunately)
BSO= both ovaries taken-this is one that people have a hard time with, and say that they had a total hyst to indicate both ovaries taken, when a total just means your uterus and cervix were taken, and partial means uterus was, but cervix was left.
Y'all will get all the terms if you stay on the site long enough. This site has been a god-send to me, I would have had a much harder time without all my hystersisters! I will be thinking of all of you as your hysterctomy dates approach.
