I am suppose to have TLH on October 13th and I have preop on Oct 5th. My Dr. said the TLH may change because she won't know until she gets in there if she can do it Laporscopic.

Ok- confused with the abbreviations. All I know is that ovaries, tubes, cervix, and uterus is gone. Four holes were used to do it. Told by the nurse yesterday that uterus was removed via the virgina- so that is what it is- just thankful it is done and I am getting better every day.

Your profile says you had the DvH. The DvH means the da Vinci robot assisted in your surgery which can typically require 4-5 small incisions. From what your nurse shared, you had a total hysterectomy which can be done with the da Vinci robot. When the complete uterus was detached, it was delivered vaginally.

(If you did not have the robot then you had the LAVH.)

Since you had both ovaries and tubes removed, you also had a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy which is usually shortened to BSO. Bilateral means both sides, salpingo refers to the fallopian tubes, oophore refers to the ovaries, and ectomy means removal.

So lavh and bso- was supposed to be done with davinci but because of scar tissue from previous surgeries- could not do it that way. Want to change method on profile but can't figure it out.

Thank you so much for all that info, Weiser. So as far as I know now, I am having a TLH. We will see if that changes on Wednesday.

:

To change the surgery type or add information about the ovaries, there are two quick ways to edit profiles.

One, click on the "My Member Survey" in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

Two, choose "Member Survey" from the Quick Links menu.
