Waiting......waiting......waiting....

I think the waiting is the worst part of this so far...I have 24 days till my TAH and it seems like it is forever. In one way I want it to hurry and be over with, but in another way I am terrified beyond belief.....

I'll let you know how things turn out.

In the meantime, enjoy yourself here it helped me a lot. it's not easy for me to talk about it with friends and family. So, if you're anything like me, I also recommend writing down your thoughts. Yesterday, I was having one of the days, and after writing, what was going in mind I feel 100% better today.

Re: Waiting......waiting......waiting....

There is definitely a lot of stress in waiting, wondering how it will go, stressing over what could go wrong, etc. I was where you are, and before I knew it, here I am, done with surgery and 1 week into recovery. It has gone well for me, just have to take it easy, and keep up with my meds to keep my pain well controlled.

Re: Waiting......waiting......waiting....

I had a TAH/BSO and had a possibility of cancer hanging over me.. I was pretty scared! Never had been "under the knife" , either!
But the date came around, and the day before I was surprisingly calm. It went well, no cancer, and suddenly I find myself at week 5 post-op.

Before you know it, it will be over and you will be on the mend!

A TAH is not a lot of fun, but you will not regret it in the long run, and every week you feel better. If you rest well post-op. you will recover faster... and some little walks help, too.
I feel quite recovered in terms of strength and stamina... just a little tender still, but that's normal.

Keep posting! The time will fly!

Re: Waiting......waiting......waiting....

Thanks ladies for all your post. When I read them I realized you all pretty much covered everything I was feeling. My surgery date is 11/7 and I will be having an TAH/BSO due to very high risk of endomentrial cancer. Since my appointment I have been feeling worse, so I hope nothing has changed. Want so badly to feel better, but a little nervous about the recovery and the surgery let me be honest. Using this time to do things around the house. Thanks for all your support.

Re: Waiting......waiting......waiting....

I agree totally! I have been waiting since August and I have preop with my Dr. tomorrow. Surgery is next Thursday the 13th. I think it is hitting them at work that I will be out a while and they all have to do my job and then some while I am out. I will be taking all the time I need though to heal! Best wishes on everyone's upcoming surgeries! I am so glad I found this site!

Re: Waiting......waiting......waiting....

My surgery is also 11/7!! I found out in August and it still seems like an eternity away. I can't wait to feel better to and not feel like I am carrying a bowling ball around in my belly. I want my energy back! I am hoping my jeans will fit better. At this point I am looking forward to my uterus eviction.
