Have really tall bed -should I get a hospital bed? Abd surgery

I have a tall bed and am pretty short. I knew having the TAH would make things tough (I had trouble after gallbladder surgery last year) so I used a step and we bought an assist bar that slips in between the mattress and boxspring. I found them searching online for bed assist rail (it's not a complete rail for the whole bedside, just a small loop) and ended up buying it through amazon. It didn't cost too much, and we figure we'll use it for anyone else who needs help getting into and out of bed. It really helped and I only used it for about a week. Good luck!
