Re: So tired for some reason lately

You are only 9 days post op and it's very normal to be tired at this point. You're body has gone thru a great deal and needs rest to heal. I didn't start getting back my energy until about 4 weeks post op. I'm 9 weeks now and I still get tired pretty easily. It takes time so listen to your body. Good luck

Re: So tired for some reason lately

I totally misread your surgery date. I looked and for whatever reason thought it was September, so disregard what I said previously.

Why do you need to have a hysterectomy? Sometime it's the medical condition alone that can cause you too be tired all the time. I know for me I would bleed so heavy during my periods it wiped me out and I would just start to get some energy back and I'm have another period, only to start all over again.

Good luck.

I have endometriosis and fibroids.....They have tried of almost 15 years to control them, but they can't so this is the last option.

Re: So tired for some reason lately

with all of that, you've had a heavy flow then? Your iron may be very low. That's the very reason they have decided that a hyst is best for me. I couldn't get my energy back up anymore because my iron was dangerously low. Is your vision kind of blurry or do you get winded way easier than you used to?

Re: So tired for some reason lately

My vision is always blurry cause I don't wear my glasses..LOL...but as far as winded, we live on the second floor of an apt and it is all I can do to get up stairs. I am not really what you would call "over weight".. I wear a size 14 in pants, but now days that is an average size.

Re: So tired for some reason lately

Have they checked you for anemia? Ad leecat said with heavy periods your iron can be low which can cause it. Will they be doing pre op blood work?

Re: So tired for some reason lately

I have been horribly exhausted for about a year. Finally went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and I'm anemic. Might want to have your dr. check that to see if you should take supplements. I've only been on them for about a week. I feel a little better but not great. Some of my feeling better is I'm about 1 1/2 weeks from my last period.
