What hormone would cause numbness/ tingling in extremities? (2011) UPDATED 2015

Just curious if anyone on biodentical hormones has experienced numbness/tingling in legs, feet, arms, hands and scalp. I have tried pills, now creams and it seems to happen about one week into them, with anxiety symptoms. Anyone else?

Re: What hormone would cause numbness/tingling in extremeties?

I have not had those symptoms. Perhaps your symptoms are from an imbalance of the hormones.

Could be the imbalance. Should symptoms not get better on HRT, rather than worse?

I had that, and it was actually low B12. Check it out online, those are the classic symptoms. I take an inexpensive supplement, and haven't had those symptoms since.

I will check it out. They also discovered my iron was very low and I am on a Supplement now. It is so hard to tell if symptoms are hormonal or from something else. And docs do not seem to know either!

Just in case, try taking a blood sugar test, the same used for diabetics.
Those symptoms sound just like diabetes, not that you have it.

I would just want to rule it out.

I also felt that for awhile, but it went away eventually.

Re: What hormone would cause numbness/tingling in extremeties?

Being low on iron can definitely cause your symptoms. It takes awhile to bring your levels back up with supplementation though. It won't happen instantly. Do you take vitamin C? Did you know that it helps with iron absorption?

Also, being low on estrogen and thyroid replacement also gave me the numbness, tingling, and burning that you describe.

Thank you all for responding.

I will try the vitamin C with the iron and see if that helps.

I also have an appointment with an endocrinologist today. Hopefully we can rule out anything else underlying. My cortisol was a bit low also.
I will post any new findings from this visit.
Thanks again!

I thought I was the only one who was dealing with tingling in the body. It is so annoying. It just makes you feel unwell.

Re: What hormone would cause numbness/tingling in extremeties?

I am feeling a numbness and tingling in a "line" in my inner thighs.
It is in my inner thighs, from my knees up to the va jay jay.
I have had this since my surgery in February.
When I get up from resting, sleeping, or sitting, I am "wobbly" and weak at first. After a few seconds, I can safely walk without the feeling of imbalance.

when I walk down the stairs, I have to do it very slowly with deliberation. In other words, I have to concentrate and steady myself.
I do manage to walk briskly 4 MPH for 45 minutes a day. My thighs just feel strange all day.

I had thought of going to the endocrinologist, but I decided to try the neurologist first.
