Looking for a good book

Mary Higgins Clark writes a good light mystery book... I have read all but the newest one.. I just love them... her daughter writes also.. but cant think of her name at the moment...
Brock and Bodie Thone are good also.. they wrote a series called the Zion Chronicles...and another companion series... (brain fog strikes once again ... I cant remember the name...) They are very intense... I could not read until I finished the chapter.. I had to read until I got the herione safe...lol...

Looking for a good book

I too love to read, just for the entertainment value and joy of it!

I just finished reading "Big Trouble" by Dave Barry, apparently his first fictional novel. It's a mystery, but my gosh, is it funny! I cried I was laughing so hard in a number of places.

I'm also a fan of Janet Evanovich and love her Stephanie Plum character series.

Looking for a good book

Hi. From a British point of vies (well, Scottish actually,), try Edward Rutherfurd - he writes books which cover a longh period of time in the one place. Imagine many short stories based on the same place, viewing a family through the years.

So far I've read Sarum, London, Russka and the Forest. There's also one about Dublin due out soon. Good fun - history with a bit of fiction to keep it interesting!

Also Jean M Auel and the Earth's Children series - can't recommend them enough. Even my 2 male flatmates love them!

Thumbs up - Looking for a good book Looking for a good book

Home recovering from the BSO, I've read

1) The Blind Assasin -- Atwood

2) Fatal Voyage -- Reich
3) am reading King Soloman's Carpet, by Ruth Rendel, writing under her pen name, I forgot what it is, very dark, like Patricia Highsmith.

Next in the pile -- Red Tent, and Midwives.

Do you like....

Do you like books that explore the quirky side of human nature? Try John Irving then. I love his books.

The World According To Garp (Nothing like the movie)
Widow For A Year
A Prayer For Owen Meaney

They are both excellent. Robin

I am a Stephen King fan, so I would like to recommend two of his works in particular. One is The Green Mile, and the other is actually a series, called the Dark Tower series, the first book is called The Gunslinger. No, it is not about a cowboy! And it is more fantasy/alternative reality rather than horror.........a fabulous read. My husband thoroughly enjoyed them, and he is NOT a Stephen King fan. It is not a finished series.....the latest one is supposed to come out this year sometime.

Love and light,

Nina

The Mitford Series

I just started the first book in the Mitford series by Jan Karon. This book is called _At Home In Mitford_ There are 6 books currently in the series, and I've bought a set of four from eBay.

Mitford is a small town in the Carolinas. Very homey and peaceful.

Love it.

(I also enjoy the historical romance mystery novels by Victoria Holt.)

Another Mitford

My favorite Mitford books are Nancy Mitford's book -- one of those amazing British Mitford sisters.

Jessica and Nancy, yea! Unity, boo!
