Re: Menstrual migrain relief from hysterectomy?

I kept my ovaries and am now 6 weeks post-op. I still get migraines - just got over my first - no noticeable changes in intensity or longevity. BUT - I'm holding out hope that the 6 week time line means they will be less frequent now. :fingers crossed:

If I had to do it all over again, I would still keep my ovaries. I think - for me - the benefits still outweigh the downsides. Plus - considering all the replies - it's still a crap shoot either way.

Best of luck to all migraine sufferers - Wishing you a migraine free post-op life.

Re: Menstrual migrain relief from hysterectomy?

One of the main reasons I had a hysterectomy was the multiple migraines that accompanied severe cramping. I'm only 6 weeks out so I'm not qualified to answer the question regarding cessation of migraines but can say I haven't had one since surgery. My fingers are crossed so tightly that I'll probably suffer from blood flow issues to the extremities! Best of luck! Hoping both of us experience lack of migraines from surgery onward!!
