Emotional

Hi Everyone.

I had abdominal BSO 9 days ago. In the hospital, immediately following surgery they put a 7 day estrodial 1 mg/day patch on me and I really didn't feel any different emotionally than I did pre surgery, except for recovering from major surgery obviously. My dr gave me vivelle dot
.075 mg to use at home once I removed the one from the hospital. Well, it's been 3 days and I am an emotional wreck!! Bursting into tears over everything and nothing. My family can hardly stand to be around me and just as well as I can hardly stand to have them around!!! Is this normal? Will it get better or better yet go away? I go to dr on thursday for my 2 week post op but feeling the way I am that might as well be a year from now!!!! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I really haven't had any hotflashes but emotionally I'm a hurricane!!

Re: Emotional

Totally normal - your body needs to heal and your hormones have to figure it all out. Just hang in there and ride it out. Right now your body is just in an up roar and all mixed up. It will get better.

Re: Emotional

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm hanging in there. Had a tough day today, our dog killed one of our kittens and I'm home all alone recovering. That was tough. But I got through and able to put things a little more in perspective tonight.
Thanks again.

Re: Emotional

I am 18 days out and I have been a total wreck, my poor DR. must think I am a nut LOL I have cried more in the last 2 and half weeks than my whole life LOL. He put me on the vivell dot. and it seems to be helping. I noticed that one day I will feel good but the next couple of days I am just so wiped out I can't get outta bed. I still have one ovary but I am not for sure it is working right or not. I was having the full blown night sweats, mood swings, you name it I had it. I am scared to be taken off the patch now that it is helping. I am not for sure what the Dr. Is going to do on Tuesday. Just hang in there is will get better. The first week I thought it would never get better but it has. Hugs to you and I hope everything turns out good for you. Di

Re: Emotional

Thank you ladies for your replies. I'm doing ok. my dr did change me from the vivelle dot .0725 to vivelle dot .1 and then again to enjuvia .625 caplets. Seems to be working. Not to many emotional breakdowns anyway. Starting to feel a little closed in though and stir crazy though. Cabin Fever has set in, that's for sure.
