Pillow question

I keep reading about the necessity of a tummy pillow after surgery. Also, my sister- in-law swears by them. My question is this: If you have a vaginal procedure, not an abdominal, will you still be using one? I can't determine if they are used due to the incision in the abdomen, or if everyone uses them. Thanks!

Pillow question

Good Question!

I had TAH (abdominal); however, I was not using my tummy pillow because of the incision, I was using it to hold against my tummy to protect the insides from getting jostled when I sneezed, coughed, laughed, or bent at the waist to lay down or get up from laying down.

My tummy pillow seemed to feel good just sitting atop my tummy, even when I was laying down. Kind of like an ace bandage on a healing knee or ankle.

Hope this helps!

tummy Pillow

Hey there!! Well I am 13 weeks post from a LAVH and yes I did use a tummy pillow alot. They are great to hold and brace when you have to cough, sneeze. In the car as a passenger they are great to put between you and the seatbelt, just feels more protected. also they are just great to cuddle when having one of those down days Lol.

Pillow question

H Kyakwdo!

I had a TVH and really didn't feel the need for the pillow - although I wished I had one for the trip home in the car. Every little bump was most uncomfortable! I did not have any soreness in the abdomen... just a bit of cramping. I guess everyone is different, so I would recommend having one near, just in case!

Pillow question

Tummy Pillows for EVERYONE!!!

They are so useful...for coughing, laughing, sneezing (DON'T sneeze!), walking, warding off overenthusiastic pets, small children, and flailing spouse appendages.

Also good for driving, bumps, sitting, and reminding yourself and others that you are a Princess and need to be careful!!

Don't forget to check out our handy-dandy Tummy Pillow/Tote Bag in the Hystersisters Store....it's adorable and doubly useful.

I still use mine!
