Little problem I just realized...

I can't believe how pre-occupied I have been to not think of this..I live on the second floor of an apartment building. Has anyone had to climb stairs after and TAH? How did it go?

Re: Little problem I just realized...

Stairs are a bit difficult but take them slowly. One step at a time and rest - rinse and repeat. Only go up/down the stairs when you absolutely have to, and don't push yourself.

Re: Little problem I just realized...

My doctor told me for the first week one trip up and one trip down. The second week, two trips up and two down. After that it was as I felt ok. I would think (hope!) that once you got into your apartment, you would be able to stay put for a while.

Your mailbox is probably down the stairs - can someone help you with that?

I agree with the other ladies - take it slowly. No need to race!

Re: Little problem I just realized...

I have a house full of stairs too. I'm going to have to ask that question of my doctor too when I go for my pre-op.

Re: Little problem I just realized...

Just take it very slowly. I only had to climb 5 stairs to get into my house and it seemed like 100. So take your time and avoid them for the next couple of weeks. Best wishes!

Re: Little problem I just realized...

Stairs are not fun, but sometimes can't be avoided....use them as little as possible for sure!! And yes TAKE IT SLOW!!! Right foot steps up, slowly bring the left one up to it...then left foot steps up, bring the right one to it!! It takes a little longer, but it is so much better for you in the long run.

Good luck to you sweetie!!! Hoping you have a speedy recovery!!!

Re: Little problem I just realized...

My bedroom and my bathroom are both on the top floor of my house. So I was climbing the stairs ALL the time! Like others have said take them slowly and one by one! You should be fine!!!

Re: Little problem I just realized...

Go very slow especially going up. That hurts the most and do not go on them unless you absolutley have to
