I got my date!!

I saw my dr today and scheduled my date, February 5. We went over my latest ultrasound. Since the last one three years ago my uterus has gone from the size of a 6 week pregnancy to its current size of a 14-16 week pregnancy. I have a few fibroids in there, none too, too big, cysts on my right ovary. The left one looks ok, but given family history she is recommending taking both of them now. It's such a relief to have the date! I wasn't leaving there today without it! My dr is great. She answered most of the questions before I asked them. She said "that's my job" I won't see her again until surgery, but hse said she calls her patients the night before. I go to the hospital for pre op the week before.

Mary Lou, what a nice doc you have. That's wonderful. So it sounds like you will have some time to prepare. Enjoy your holidays...you'll have plenty of time to get ready when that's all over.

Wow...a 14-16 week pregnancy. You will be carrying a much lighter load when it's over. It's amazing to me how we women get all these wierd fibroids, polyps, etc.

Well, keep us posted and I'm sure Christmas preparations will keep you busy and not thinking about your upcoming surgery too much.

Sounds like you have a great doc. Mine is wonderful too! I am so grateful to him for being open and honest with me. (I also love him for bringing my daughter into the world 17 years ago). My uterus was the size of yours and I did have one funky ovary but opted to keep the good one. I feel great now. Its a releif to have that pain and constant misery over with.
Now you have something to look forward to. Its a crazy/stressful time for a while waiting for the day to get here, but once it does and its over with, watch out world. If you have suffered with this for a long period of time then its going to be a major change for you to feel good again and to have energy. I still cant believe I waited 2 years. I guess I thought a miracle would happen but it only got worse. Those fibriods are meanies and they sure can be a nusance!
