Interesting pre-op today

Hi all,

I am new here; this is my first post but I have been lurking for a few weeks. I am 36 years old and scheduled to have an LSH, BSO on Nov 2nd.

Today at my pre-op appointment my surgeon told me this: the surgery will take 45 mins to an hour, no catheter upon waking, propofol is used for anesthesia (I've had it before, it's a quick wake up and less shakes and drowsiness), I will be up and out of bed, peeing and walking within the hour after surgery. As soon as I pee I will be discharged. No overnight stay, no pain pump, no catheter, no heavy anesthesia. I am thrilled!

Granted, he has been doing this for 35 years and does multiple laps per day, so perhaps that is why it is so easy and fast. Needless to say, I am happy to be in good hands! I know that there is always the chance of complications, but I am hoping it's smooth sailing in two weeks.

Anyone else have a lap similar to what I described above?

Sounds wonderful! It's amazing what the doctors can do these days! I can't wait to hear your post-op report.

Best of luck to you!
