The worst part for me was getting my IV in. I'm sure I was a little dehydrated and my veins didn't want to cooperate. She had to try twice. The anesthesiologist warned that one of the meds might burn? hurt? the arm, but I didn't feel anything once he pushed them in. I do vaguely remember the inside of the OR, but not much for sure! If your nursing staff is like mine, they'll monitor your pain meds well and you won't get too much. Hopefully you'll respond well to them as well. (I had a push button for my pain meds over night, then we switched to pills the next day). They don't want you to stay on them any longer than *needed* any more than you do I'm sure. (((HUG)))

My LAVH is not until January 9th and I think this waiting is horrible. When I went to doctor last week and demaded the hysterecetmy he told me it would be about a month, but then I get the phone call and it's not for 3 months!!

How long have you already been waiting? I have a 10 week wait and I could use some pointers on not stressing daily about it!

(I was trying to reply to a post but it put it at the end of the line I guess)

Re: Countdown - how long do you have? How long have you been waiting?

I just scheduled mine last week for November 17th, Pre-op on the 15th. They wanted to do it on Nov. 10th, but the schedule was full. The waiting is HORRIBLE....I think what makes it worse is knowing that I have to go around with this cervical carcinoma in situ for another 2 weeks! UGH!

Mine is scheduled for the 18th but is on hold now due to my dang insurance stating they won't cover it. I have only gotten worse with my problems and the pain has gotten worse.

Re: Countdown - how long do you have? How long have you been waiting?

Nov 22 for me! I'm kind of nervous, but I'm ready for these crappy cycles to be over! My last period just stopped after 20 days, and that was with birth control pills and provera. Mine should be vaginal unless my fibroids have grown a lot since my latest transvaginal ultrasound. Bladder sling, too. Anybody else getting a sling?

1 day and 10 hours and 8 minutes! I am so not looking forward to the bowel prep tomorrow but I know I will make it through it just fine then off to the castle at 5:00 a.m Friday morning. I have to be there at 5:30 and surgery is at 7:30. See you all on the flip side at post-op!

Scheduled on Oct.10th for Nov. 17th. It could have happened much sooner, but I have to go out of state for a conference this Friday for 5 days, so I delayed it slightly.
