I Saw My Waistline!

I am so delighted! Although I have been suffering from swelly-belly, tonight, when I lifted up my shirt (yet again) to see the status, I saw the curve of my waist--something I haven't seen in five years! (I am 47.) I also saw the outline of my once-remarkable abs, which makes me think I'll be able to get them back one day. And last week, as I was walking to the store, my elastic-waist stretch pants (which used to stay up because of my big belly) started to slide down over my hips! I laughed and walked down the block clutching the waistband.

My huge fibroid and growing uterus (I named it Brutus) took over my once-curvy mid-section. Before the surgery, I had no line of demarcation; I looked hugely pregnant (Doc said my uterus was the size of a 7 1/2 month pregnancy!) and could only wear baggy shifts and elastic -waist pants.

This depressed me till no end, because, before I developed fibroids, I studied bellydancing and boasted a lush, hourglass figure--small waist, flaring hips, and full breasts. As the fibroid took over my body, I just looked like a blob!

And I was in so much pain all the time that I stopped going to class. Now, I know it will take time to get back into shape, but just knowing that there is no "basketball" inside of me gives me hope!

And I figured out how to camoflouage my vertical scar if I return to performing: I'll just get Mehendi (temporary herbal tatoo) in the form of a flower beneath my navel!

Can any fitness guru PLEASE tell me how long it will take to get back into sexy shape???

SAH October 16 for humungous fibroids. Vertical incision; kept ovaris.

I Saw My Waistline!

muneca,
WOW I am so excited for you! I am sure that fibroid really took its toll on you and your lifestyle.
You ask the question

Well the answer is no. Not knowing anything about you other than what you have just said I could not say how long it will take. I can say tho that for someone who is fit it takes less time to return to that condition. You are around 10 weeks post op and that means that you can ask your dr if you can be released to exercise. If you are then you should start out gradually. Work your way up to the belly dancing. Belly dancing takes a lot of abdominal strength and you don't want to cause any damage.
Make sure that you listen to your body. If you get swelly belly you have done too much. You will need to rest with your feet up and drink lots of water. If you feel pulling and tugging you need to stop and continue maybe the next day. Be very careful.

Every body is different. You can only do what your body will allow.
My very best to you.
Blessings<><
