How long did your surgery take? And did they tell you whether our not there were any complications during surgery?

Re: ? For davinci post op

I did not have a da vinci, but had a TAH BSO. My surgery took about 90 minutes. I would assume that the da vinci is fairly similar in time frame, depending on what you are having done. The doc should tell you after surgery if there were complications and how it went.

I'm very curious to know, too. I'm scheduled in one month, and know I have extensive adhesions and scar tissue....

Re: ? For davinci post op

I am having surgery on the 28th, I only know that if all goes well I an just having the uterus removed, there are some adhesions, they dont know yet how many or how bad they are and my doc said surgery would be between 2 and 6 hours. So just curious about others experiences. 6 days to go and it is ?s like this that are bugging me.

Re: ? For davinci post op

Me too, her answers to all my questions were awfully vague. Her anders were all best case, worst case scenario. I think that is odd, feels avoidant....

Re: ? For davinci post op

I think every person's situation is different. I had my daVinci hysterectomy on October 19th -- he removed uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes -- delivered uterus vaginally -- I also had some adhesions on my bladder. He said the entire surgery was about 2 1/2 hours.

I am only 32, I am praying like you wouldn't believe that I get to keep my ovaries and cervix.

Re: ? For davinci post op

I'm 31 - it always makes me feel a little less "alone" to see someone close to my age, not that I wish this on anybody though! My doctor said pretty much the cervix would go; I don't want miniperiods so I hope it's the right choice. Ovaries better stay put, though!

Re: ? For davinci post op

The mini periods probably won't happen because she is going to cauterize the whole top of the cervix. Keeps a lining from even growing.
