Low ferritin

I'm sure my situation is not unique. I had blood work a few months ago and my ferritin level was an 8. At that time, I wasn't anemic. I'm now taking iron supplements and my ferritin only increased 3 points in 2 months -- still no anemia. I'm nervous about where my ferritin level will be pre-op and I'm really hoping I haven't developed anemia.

3 questions
1. Does low ferritin complicate recovery time?
2. Is there a chance they'll cancel the surgery if my ferritin is to low? What if I've actually developed anemia?
3. Rather than canceling, is IV iron an option? How likely is it that I'll have to do this if I'm not anemic but have ferritin in the 11 -20 range?

Scheduled for lapo surgery on 11/14. Leaving cervix removing right ovary.

Re: Low ferritin

If you increased 3 points to 11, that's good. My ferritin level was really low, at 6, right before my hysterectomy, and my OBGYN ordered a blood transfusion. My fibroid was huge, and the lining of my uterus started disintegrating - I was bleeding vaginally and she also had me on Estrogen. She didn't want me going into surgery with a low blood count. She had me on iron supplemements after my hysterectomy for about 6 months. Now years later, my level has held at 13! I don't think you have anything to worry about. You should be fine going in for surgery with an 11 count, but check with your OBGYN.
