That's my understanding. Hope I'm not wrong!

Keep your BMI in range and to the lowest number in the range to help yourself before and after surgery!

It's part of my "realities this year" and it is why I chose my user name Reality2011. A real eye opener!

I'm Sorry Reality, but that is not true.

The organs (ie uterus, ovaries and their attachments) aren't dead. Dead tissue/organs necrotize (rot) and the condition is lethal if not fixed (ask anyone who has had appendicitis).

I think it would be more appropriate to say they are dormant post menopause. There have been rare cases of women who became pregnant who believed they were post menopausal.

The ovaries will continue to produce estrogen through menopause and low estrogen is linked to increased risks of osteoporosis and heart disease in post menopausal women.

Every woman should weigh the pros and cons carefully and make a decision based on facts and their personal situation. The decision should not be made lightly.

Re: pre op appointment questions

It seems there are so many questions one could ask, and there are. I am trying to focus my questions at pre op on the surgery and the post op care. One thing at a time, so not to get too overwhelmed. As questions come up post surgery - I will deal with them then. A big question I have is what direction the doctor will take with the HRT, since I will be directly going into menopause. Lets just try and take care of ourselves! One thing at a time! Lets stay in touch. Blessings to you, Azealanne
