Re: The eve before my surgery

they did the shaving on me! But I was full abdominal. Drink lots of water right at your cut off time tonight, and it will help keep your veins a bit easier to hit for IV.

Write down any last min. questions you have. And I let them know any fears, concerns I had. For me, vocalizing them seemed to help my nerves after I got there.

And for me, I thought about all the bad stuff I had been going through, and the reason for the surgery, and to think about how nice it will be to have all that in my past.

Oh, and I did not sleep much, but sure did after surgery. Some of my best sleep was in the hospital.

Re: The eve before my surgery

Thanks GrandM. My doc was surprised I have pain! I actually peed on my own. Took 10 minutes and didn't feel it, but filled the little catcher they had. Going to shower here since they have e erything available in the bathroom. Good luck. Hope my recovery goes well and I can share good stories.

I kept busy cleaning, cooking and grocery shopping. Asked doc for something to calm my nerves so I could sleep. Took Xanax and was relatively calm on surgery day.

Can't believe am done with this. Last week this time i was a nervous wreck.

Re: The eve before my surgery

Gas pain is pretty bad also. I drink decaf hot tea.

Urine problems rather bothersome. I am numb down there. How long does this take to sort out?

Thanks for wishes.

You won't feel like yourself for a week or two. Rest and let yourself be pampered :-) hope you have a smooth, quick recovery.
