I'm home and GREAT

Had LAVH on 13th - took 2 hours - took uterus, cervix and one ovary as it had a nasty cyst. The pain that day was comparable to a bad period or mild labor (don't be afraid to use PCA). Friday morning I felt great, very little pain, late morning I had a low blood pressure problem - totally unrelated to surgery, have had this problem before. It required that I stay another night, plus I have 9 kids and Dr. was afraid going home was too much for me. Was released next morning, 15th. We drive a suburban, used a step stool to get in/out - it was very easy - much better than having to hoist out of a low sitting car I would think. I have had very minimal pain, mostly burning, and the first few days feeling like my insides might drop out the front! My first big potty job was day 2 when I got home - it was normal and easy - I think because I really drank the water and juice from the time I woke up. I slept the first 2 nights home in a recliner - getting up and down in bed was to scary for me - but last night I slept in bed and it was wonderful. Still using my tummy pillow, it really helps. Anyway for those of you waiting who are scared try not to be, it really is better on the other side. My twin sister started her period yesterday and I got to laugh, promising that next month I would be sympathetic, but this was month was mine to enjoy!!!
