Cervix problems ~ anyone else?

I was unable to have my ablation because my cervix would not dilate.. My surgeon said she has never had an issue with not being able to dilate the cervix in the OR...guess I'm just special like that. I have terrible periods passing huge clots going through tampons and a pad every 45 mintues. I am only 40 and don't want to deal with this for 10 more years. I actaully can't wait for my hysterectomy. I am a little nervous about the post-op, but I have had 2 c sections and I feel like I am at least prepared for the kind of pain I will be in.

Re: Cervix problems ~ anyone else?

After abnormal paps and an abnormal biopsy I had a LEEP procedure on my cervix. Afterwards the cervix scarred so badly that my period couldnt pass through. My gyne wanted two clear biopsies afterwards but was unable to even get one sample off my cervix, although he tried four times. The biopsies were absolute hell for me, unbelievably painful. He told me when he saw my name on the slate, he would feel sick all day because he knew he was going to hurt me. I am now 14 weeks post op. Do a search on this site about c-sections. From what I've read the recovery is very different. One lady said it was like comparing apples to a refrigerator.

Re: Cervix problems ~ anyone else?

Hi, newmimi. I am sorry you are dealing with this. I can see why you would not want 10 more years of what you are going through.

Here is some information about a c-section versus a hysterectomy.

Hugs to you...
