Re: Princess is Waiting 15 days pre-op

I`m scheduled for Nov 28. Yesterday I had the edndo-biops and it was discovered I also have many large fibroids with my endometriosis. I was like Wow!, no wonder I`ve been in so much pain. I`ve been contemplating this surgery for a year now. I finally had enough and made the dicision to just do it! I am 36 with 3 kids. This is the best choice for me.
The waiting is totally killing me too. I have a demmanding job that will be hard to disconnect from for recovery. But, I know I must.
My Dr. is performing the SILS, and I am hopefull on a quick discharge and recovery.
I wish you all luck and keep positive.
Think of all the on-line christmas shopping we can get done this month

Re: Princess is Waiting 15 days pre-op

Hi girls,
I am now 5 days post op TAH and I remember that last week being a killer with the wait! As much as I was busy with work, kids & everything else, I still found the wait the worst! I dealt with it by calling it my hysterectomy boot camp & was determined to get myself into the best shape physically emotionally & spiritually b4 the day! I got up every morning to walk and made sure my diet was good and spent a lot of time thinking & praying through every fear & concern! I have to say that the day b4 & of the surgery I had so much peace & went in smiling!! I felt really ready & right through post op I have felt that same steady patience. ( even when things have been rough) I think it prepared me to slow down & really take each step as a necessary part of the process! The wait does get to you but if you see as a part of preparation it really does pay off! Oh and make sure you schedule some fun in there- my friends and I had a "bye bye uterus" party on the Saturday night b4 & that was a great way to go into the week!
Hang in there- it does pass and you'll be on the other side feeling better than ever sooner than you think

Re: Princess is Waiting 15 days pre-op

Treating yourself is a good idea. DH and I went out to a very nice restaurant the Sat before my surgery. And I tried to do some things that weekend I knew I would not be able to do for a while.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

We will be waiting for you on the other side.

Re: Punctured Princess xoxo whhoooaaa

OH my what a tiring few days this has been. Surgery went well, recovery sort of going well I think. My surgeon is wonderful and he explained everything to expect, but its way different to live it. pain control is going well, problems yup the constipation, but ex-lax I hope is gonna save me. Nightmares are quite another problem, gees what morpheine and codeine do to you. Walking when I need to and yup being pampered. I could open a Flower shop LOL. Yesterday the biggest prob so far caught me way off guard. Woke up confused and terribly emotional. Cry at the sky kind of emotion. Felt helpless and cried some more. Took shower cried at the way I look. Cried at the wonderful site of my husband vacumming. My Doc said this would happen but geesh. Hope tis ends. Any advice Sisters. I am emotional to begin with but this is not me. My hubby supports tells me I am beautiful but at the moment I am convinced he is LOL lying. I know its not been a week and i know I am strong but geesh. Sleep, eat, pee, sleep eat pee cry, pee again its like thats all I do. Is this really normal xoxoxoxo Anyway to all my other Sisters hope all is well, xoxoxox

Re: Princess is Waiting 15 days pre-op

me2011 - The emotional roller coaster is normal - it will be like that for a while, but will get better slowly. I cried more in the first 8 weeks after surgery than I had in the past eight years. Your body has gone through a tremendous shock, and your system is in mourning. Give yourself time to heal, and rest, rest, rest.
