Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

Who needs a horror movie, when I have my bathroom experiences!

Please help me to know what this was:

My surgery is in a few days.
Bleeding VERY heavy.
I am very familiar with blood clots, even very large ones.

What just came out of me was not a blood clot.
It almost fell onto the floor as I was getting onto the toilet.
(sorry so graphic)

I had it in my hand.
It was like a piece (large) of chicken fat.
About the size of my hand.

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

Hmmm, I don't remember hearing about any Halloween horror movies like that, but it sounds like you've got one. Honestly, that does sound really scary - perhaps you should call your Dr and find out what they would like you to do. My immediate reaction would be to save the um, item, so they can send it to pathology if necessary. Keeping my fingers crossed things ease up a little for you prior to your surgery, and that your surgery goes smooth as silk!!

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

I just called the dr's office, and they want me to come in today.

I didn't save it, although I did have some thoughts.

There was also others (smaller) that did fall into the toilet.

If anymore come, I will try to save them.

Joy.

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

I'm so glad you called your Dr and are going in today. I know how difficult it is to go in for yet another exam, especially when feeling lousy with surgery coming up. It's good you are taking care of yourself! Good luck, fingers crossed for you!

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

Not much gets to me, but THAT would freak me out.

It's great your doctor is getting you in - with luck they will be able to figure it out and it will be nothing important.
Best of luck at the doctor's office and keep us updated.

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

Hi- I remember when I was bleeding heavily and passing large clots, that ultimately led me to the hospital needing a blood transfusion & D&C, I passed something like tan pieces of tissue FREAKED ME OUT....dr said its part of the lining in the uterus ? But noting to worry about . The d & C was normal,,,,showed lots of inflamed tissue but nothing abnormal. Not sure if this is whats happening to you but i thought I would share. Good Luck

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

that happened to me, told the dr that it was flesh colored and looked like body tissue. She said it was old blood, even though it was flesh colored, it is like a clot that lost all the coloring

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

Been there too, a long time ago. Mine too were tan in color, and was told that I was passing old clots.

The color scared me too, and it sent me to the ER, where I was sent to a GYN the next day and had a D & C a few days later. Hope things are well with you and you find the answers you are looking for.

Re: Something just fell out, and it was NOT a blood clot...

I went to the Dr.

He doesn't know what it was, because he didn't see it.
[His guess is that it may have been a polyp]

I did bring him some other tissue sample that came out about 30 minutes later, and I was able to save it.
He said this is a piece of the lining of the uterus.

He does not know how this lining made it through the cervix, and certainly doesn't know how the other thing (much bigger) made it through the cervix.

He did a quick exam, but isn't too concerned since EVERYTHING is coming out in three days!
