I'm also diabetic...

I have not seen (yet) anyone discuss any complications with diabetes...and maybe it's because there aren't any...but the endocrine system is highly effected by I have concerns that after the surgery my diabetes could get worst.

I am currently on an insulin pump and have fairly well controlled sugars (they're better when I behave myself ).

Does anyone out their have diabetes and have you seen a change in your control since surgery?

Re: I'm also diabetic...

I am sorry you are dealing with this. I am not certain how diabetes would impact your healing. Please discuss this with your doctor. This is important to address.

Hopefully someone else can offer some experience.

Re: I'm also diabetic...

My only issue is my scabs over my incisions healing a little slower, but my dr. said that is normal. I don't take insulin, so I don't know how this will affect you. Keep your chin up, and hang in there!

Re: I'm also diabetic...

I have type 2 diabetes (actually diagnosed during pre-op tests!). They delayed my surgery a month to get it under control. Had no problems with the surgery, nor with the control of the diabetes since! Good luck!
