Cervix or no cervix

Educate me please on the pros and cons of leaving it or having it removed. I'm scheduled for a TAH on 2/6 and my pre-op appt. is 1/23. I have loads of questions and this will be one of them.
Thanks!

PCP disagrees with GYN

I kept mine and I am glad I did. No shortening of the vagina, no vaginal cuff, kept the strong orgasms. If you keep your cervix MAKE SURE that your doctor cauterizes the top of the cervix so that you don't have monthly mini-bleeds.

I didn't bleed a bit, even in the hospital! Plus, I don't have the "empty feeling" some women get when they lose their cervix.

PCP disagrees with GYN

Hi all, I'm 4 1/2 weeks post-op and kept my cervix as well for all the reasons discussed. My doctor said he did a procedure to clean out any uterine tissue in the cervix so I would not have any spotting. All my paps have been normal and my right ovary was healthy so anything that wasn't a problem stayed
