Anything with wheat, barley, or rye. It's a big change at first but then gets easier.

Re: Two weeks to go...

I'm just a week behind you with 3 weeks to go. Screwed up here too. Suspected adenomyosis, fibroids (at least one on my cervix). Will be having DvH on 11/29/11. Only abdominal surgery I've had was a csection 10 years ago. Not really sure what to expect. Guess I'll find out soon enough. :-)

Re: Two weeks to go...

Arawyn, good luck!! I really felt like I was the only one with these issues. None of my family understand why, at 24, Im having this done. I'm sorry you also are going through this, it's so hard. Do you have a lot of support? Other than my mom I don't have anyone else. My entire in law family think I'm psychotic for having the surgery, even though they have no clue the pain I feel. Keep us posted!! And post on this one anytime! I get emails when I get a post

Re: Two weeks to go...

I am pretty fortunate that my mom and I are close. My husband tries, bless his heart, but he is a lousy nurse. I had my 4th knee surgery a year ago and lost 8 lbs the first week because it was like pulling teeth to get him to bring me a decent meal (and our house is full of stairs). Fortunately, the kids brought me cookies and milk, or whatever snacks they could find. I have learned, if I want something, I have to ask, because he won't offer otherwise. (Probably his military training.)
I don't feel like I have to justify my medical needs to anyone - and someone at work asked me why I needed surgery, because I never acted like I was in pain - pfft! I must be a splended actress to never let on how much pain I am in (and I have a very high tolerence for pain).
My two philosphies in life carry me through - "This too shall pass" and "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional" (as seen in my tagline).
We'll get through this.
