Yum! We were talking last night about a bonfire and drinks with friends the weekend before my surgery. Hopefully the weather holds up because having a big party sounds like fun since Thanksgiving won't be a big hoopla this year (my surgery is the Monday just prior).

Enjoy the fires and for me it's kind of symbolic. Getting rid of my old life to make way for my new improved life

Are you doing anything special to mark that symbolism?

Yeah, Thanksgiving will be low-key for us, too. The kids are with their dad this year, and we're having take-out Chinese food with some friends on Wednesday, then going to a potluck on the day itself.

I've thought about burning my heavy flow day panties. God those things are an embarrassment

THAT sounds like a great idea! I think I'll join in on that one.

That is a GREAT idea. I, too, have those. Actually, I'm afraid if I took inventory, I would find that most are of that type. How sad is that. Bring on the new, pretty panties!

You know, I love the idea of buying new underpants after this. GREAT idea!

Think about this: What else would you like to replace besides your undies?

I bought a new set of linens for my bed -- It was nice coming home to fresh, unstained sheets. Also, a tip I got from someone was to put two sets of bottom sheets on your bed before you go to the hospital. When it is time to change your sheets for the first time post-op, you only need to remove one fitted sheet and avoid the stretch and pull to put on a new fitted sheet. The flat sheets are easier to put on the bed. Better yet, let someone else change the sheets for you. Remember: Not too much post-op work, especially NO VACUUMING. I used a small stick vac for about six weeks post-op and had a friend run my regular vac every couple weeks.
