Re: I am so angry

I literally just experienced the same yesterday... OB/GYN sent me to a specialist... specialist said, "Nah, let's not take everything out and instead let's to a lapro to get the endo and adenomyosis... that's should suffice for a while, then maybe later we will do the hysterectomy!" Seriously? I am beyond frustrated. It's my body, so why can't I decide to skip the lapro portion? My husband travels extensively and he took most of the month of Dec off for my recovery.... I feel your frustration and wish there was a magic wand to make these doctors understand that our decisions to have it all taken out doesn't come over night... it's weeks, months, and years of agony that brings us to this decision and it's one that is very well thought out. I truly believe that they think we wake up one day, watch a Dr. Oz special about the benefits of a hysterectomy and WHAMO we schedule an appointment to get the newest, latest greatest Dr. Oz special. I swear they think our minds our made up as quickly as if it were deciding which clothing trend to participate in this season.

Re: I am so angry

I'm one of the rare women. It popped in my head while at the gyn; I mentioned it; scheduled it the next day. From light spotting from a polyp to hyst was a total of 5 weeks. I had a D&C and polypectomy 2 weeks after visit and hyst 3 weeks later. I do not regret it and am glad my dr was receptive to my idea without making me wait.

Re: I am so angry

Lil lulu- im surprised to hear you can take care of adeno without a hyster . My dr told me the opposite. She said that a hyster was the only way to diagnose & treat it.

Ive also.learned while the "staff" is trying to help they often cause me more headaches. I started calling with questions and would only talk to the MA who was in the room at my appt. Wow what a difference
