Feeling whiny

Today I am feeling very down. I really wish I could get my surgery date. I hate Canadian wait times. I have had my period, (albeit light since ablation in October 2010) since September. UGH! It is such a pain in the butt. My poor husband, he is being so patient. But I feel bad for him. I had an ultrasound last week that showed several small fibroids, one that was already dead and one that is only 3 cms but is degenerating. I wish it had told me something that would encourage my surgeon to say " hey we should get you in right away" but nope. Didn't even phase him. I am sure it sent him the other way, thinking well she can wait a year, it's not so bad. I am in so much contraction type pain, my uterus is huge, the pressure it cause is very uncomfortable. I just want this done so I can move forward. I feel like I am being held prisoner to my body. I want my life back. Sorry for the whine.

Re: Feeling whiny

....never apologize for your emotions! We are here for you to lean on. I'm so sorry you have to play the waiting game. I'm not familiar with Canadian medical practices, but have heard a lot of women have to wait up there. So sorry you are going through this.

I know this doesn't ease your pain in the least, but we are here to "listen".

to you!! I hope you find some sort of relief soon!

Re: Feeling whiny

Not sure where you are, but I had a 5 week wait period.I'm in southern Ontario. If you are in pain try talking to your family doctor she/he maybe able to recommend another surgeon

Re: Feeling whiny

Thanks ladies! I am in BC, it has the absolute worst wait times in Canada. I see my family Doctor today, I have thought about jumping surgeons, but it is 6 months or more to get in to see one and then you are on their surgical wait list. I think either way it is probably going to be a year. UGH! To make matters worse I have a 6 cm cyst on my right ovary that feels like it might explode today. Ouch! Thanks again, it is nice to have a place to cry to, where someone understands what you are going through. I have a husband and 3 sons, while they are supportive, they just don't get it.
