Wow. You did good. I had to give my job description to the doc and they said it would be 2 weeks because I have to be able to lift 50 pounds, stand long periods of time, push and pull carts, be available for all shifts. So, I guess he will release be back into the wild on the week of Christmas . I wonder if he would let me have off until after the holiday ? Wish you best . Let us know it goes. Prayers.

At least you get to sleep in an hour more. I have to be at the castle at 5:00am and will be in surgery by 7:00. That means I have to be up at 3:30 to shower and get my act together for the 30 minute drive to the hospital.
Lol.

Re: One week to go, and I'm in a good place...

I had my preop last week and will have my DaVinci hysterectomy on December 15th. Have gone back and forth about ovary removal, but my family doc says get it all done! SO! I'm scared as anything one minute, and darned excited he next! Guess I'm practicing my emotional ups and downs to get a good workout? Anyhow, I will be getting my holiday things around this week (thanks for reminding me). Dec 22 is also my 48th birthday and I"m hoping that I can relax and enjoy what the day has to offer. SO stoked, yet SO freaked out...am I the only seemingly bipolar hyster sister out here? Hope all goes well for you all within the next weeks...I look forward to reading your successful recovery stories! HUGS to ALL!

Well I hope your loved ones pamper you to the hilt for your bday, relax and enjoy it! I'm about as up and down as you describe, buying new gowns for my princess days one minute and crying the next! Doesn't help I just started my (LAST!!!) period either! Good luck to you and well wishes =)

Re: One week to go, and I'm in a good place...

OY what a day, I just sat down now, since 7 this morning, went and took care of my FIL who is upset because he wont see me for a couple of weeks, then proceeded to start sneezing and my nose is running like a sieve, really honestly I dont need this right now, have been cooking and cleaning for the last 6 hrs, and still have quite a bit to do, but I did call the dr, and the dr said, if I was really congested they would postpone, but I am not really , my nose is just running, got the ok to take Nyquil so that is what I just took, it usually knocks it right out of me, so here is hoping it does....I am drinking alot of fluids also, using simply saline, anything to be able to keep the appt for castle..
I t would really really mess up the time I need to take off, but I will let things go and see what happens, keep me in your thoughts and tell that cold fairy to hit the road

Re: One week to go, and I'm in a good place...

I sure will . My doc told me to take loratadine or something like it . I have a feeling you have sinus . As we all do . I am hoping all goes well and sending prayers to my new sisters. I find out more on the 1 . I am so upset because I cant get my family to get in gear to help with the tree and all. Its very frustrating . I love Christmas and this is making things horrid . I will keep looking out for you . Take care . Keep in touch .

Can't remember if loratadine is claritin or zyrtec but it's one or he other. I've done everything to avoid getting sick possible. Thought a monster headache earlier this weekend was a bug coming on, but it passed, thank goodness.

Re: One week to go, and I'm in a good place...

Got a phone call from the Surgeons office today running through a few things. Have to be at the hospital by 7am on Thursday where I will get to speak to the surgeon and anethetist(spelling). After op I am not allowed to drive for 4 to 6 weeks. I am not allowed to swim, bath, use a tampon or have sex until after the follow up surgeons appointment on the 17th of January 2012. Bowel prep starts at 12 noon on Wednesday. It is becoming a reality now.
