Re: abnormal paps but it's been a few years..........

This is something you need to discuss with your doctor. I had abnormal paps and my cervix was removed. As long as you have your cervix there is a chance of the abnormal cells coming back. There is also a chance that you will continue to experience mini periods. Keeping it however helps support the pelvic floor. You need to discuss all this with your doctor.

I agree with sugarandspice - you should talk to your doctor about this. There are pros and cons to this, and this is best discussed with him or her.

My surgery was six months ago, and I have not had any medical issues with my cervix out.

Re: abnormal paps but it's been a few years..........

I'm 4.5 months post op. No issues with having my cervix out. My cervix had heavy scarring on it from a LEEP procedure and was therefore sore. Sex is better without it since it hurt when DH bumped it. And thank goodness I never need another biopsy! I no longer need paps either but I have decided to continue them just to be safe.
