Re: Undies and Others!

Good questions....being comfortable is important....I wore my normal undies....they sit below incision sites...I had no problems with pads. A few nights before surgery I went to the store an bought pajama pants ( i bought both fuzzy/ fleece and t-shirt types). I lived in these pants and was so thankful...for some reason regular sweatpants didn't feel comfortable.

Re: Undies and Others!

I think I'll just stick with my regular underpanties. I'm like Whirlygig, low on $$$. Also I really like my unders. I wear the stretch lace thongs because of painful streatch-marks everywhere a granny pantie elastic sits. You can wear them low on the tummy or higher up and getting the right size helps too. No one likes their unders to sneak up and bite them. I like the ones that don't have seams or have only small seems at the front and back waist band. this might still be uncomfy for you ladies who will have abdominal incisions.

DKM1963, I'm rushing toward my hyst like you. Had an ablation scheduled on Dec 21st. Unfortunately, they were unable to do it due to my strange anatomy. I was so excited about it too. I had really wanted it to work. Well, it didn't. Such is life I guess. Anyway, I'm going pretty crazy with all of this surgery stuff too. Hang in there. You aren't alone.

As for pads, I needed them after the attempted ablation and D & C. I am use to wearing a lot of period protection but when I went to get my supplies at the store for the procedure, I found something great! I am a small lady so I was glad I found what I did. I found U by Kotex tween. It is made for smaller bodies & people that are conscious of the 'my-mother's pad' bulge in the panties. I got the combo pack that has 12 pads (with those pantie wing thingies that keep your pad from taking a walk), and 12 pantie liners. I figure that will be more than enough to get me through the worst of it. The pads are slim but absorb the same amount as a heavy flow pad. Nice.

Also, back to panties...
I LOVED those heinous mesh panties they give out at some hospitals. They are truly ugly, but oh-so-comfortable. If you can get your hands on some of those, do it. They hand wash fine and hang dry so try to snag a few pair.
