Is anyone else really ill tempered???

I am 2 weeks out from my hysterectomy and my husband and I keep snapping at each other. He says he is tired of me being sick and tired, I'm tired of him acting like I just have a cold. But just wondered if anyone else is short tempered???

Re: Is anyone else really ill tempered???

Thats understandable as well. I wasnt short tempered just a little bit hyper. You have alot on your mind so cut yourself some slack...its normal.

Thank you I'm just getting overwhelmed trying to have all the Xmas shopping done (I have two girls under 5) and to get the house ready for when I'm down, plus I'm active duty so Im dealing with all of that! Grrr

Re: Is anyone else really ill tempered???

You have a lot on your mind.
Just be kind to yourself, try to calm down, and not worry about the decorations, etc.

Just make sure there is food in the house for DH to make easy and simple meals.

Good Luck, and thank you for serving our country.

Re: Is anyone else really ill tempered???

SuziQ-thank you so much! Yes I do need to calm down! I have already apologized to DH for being snappish (I am usually much more level headed!) and feel awful about doing it. I know I am just adding to the stress for the whole family! Maybe I will make lists of things that HAVE to be done before hand and one for things that can wait. That way I can focus on that instead of spazzing!

Re: Is anyone else really ill tempered???

I am feeling the same way. I am scheduled for surgery on Friday and am nervous, anxious, scared. Nothing is ready around the house and I have 6 kids to shop for. Just take a deep breath and continue to breath. My feeling is what gets done gets done and what doesn't - oh well. I plan on doing some online shopping after my surgery.

Hang in there. You've been through tougher things before.

Re: Is anyone else really ill tempered???

Wow...active duty...thank you so much for your service and sacrifice...you and your entire family! It is very understandable to be off...so much to try to get ready for...so much to try and get you DH ready for...yikes! =)

It is very normal to be off before such an ordeal...especially this time of year...hang in there...and I am looking forward to hearing how you continue to persevere...we will be recovery buddies...as I am scheduled to have my surgery TAH on Dec. 7th. Let's stay in touch!! =)

Re: Is anyone else really ill tempered???

Shanwool-thank you so much! I would love to keep in touch! It seems you will be having your surgery a week before me, so I'm glad to be able to learn from your experience! My DH actually talking to a friend of his who's wife had a hysterectomy 5 weeks ago and it kinda opened his eyes that this wasnt going to be a "quick fix". I guess it helped hearing it from another man! Lol
