Bring on the hot flashes

Here I sit in my doctor's office waiting for my first shot of Lupron. The goal: shrink a 14 cm fibroid in order to do DaVinci partial. I know I've made the right choice, for me...but I'm nervous. Here's hoping. Anyone have a positive story to share?

Re: Bring on the hot flashes

I hope the Lupron will shrink the fibroid. If the surgery can be less invasive, that is always helpful.

It is normal to be nervous about any surgery, but especially THIS surgery. There are many women on this site who have been where you are now. Hopefully some can share their experiences with Lupron.

Re: Bring on the hot flashes

The Lupron shots worked well for me, I hope you also have good results. I was able to have a LSH and a very easy recovery.
From what I could feel my uterus was about 1/3 its original size after the Lupron shots.

I hope all goes well for you.

Re: Bring on the hot flashes

Me, too, Lizardbrain! My doc would not consider TVH 3 months ago so I opted for a 3 month Lupron shot to try and shrink things down for a less invasive surgery. It worked! My TVH is on Monday....

I was completely miserable on many levels before the Lupron shot. The night sweats and hot flashes were only mildly miserable so I consider it a raging success....

For me, the first 2 weeks after the shot were the hardest. Much, much better after that.

I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.

Best to you.

Re: Bring on the hot flashes

Thanks guys! I do appreciate the insight. I know everyone reacts differently but here's hoping your positive experiences rub off on me! So far, no Lupron side-effects to report (I'm already half nuts so I'm not sure if I'll recognize any changes ).

BeingMaxine...good luck to you sister!! Will be watching for you on the other side & wishing you the best!!
