Am I ready??

Surgery tomorrow at 2pm and I have to be there at Noon!
My bag is not packed because I am not sure what to bring to the hospital for just an overnight stay?? Now I have doubts as to keep my cervix or not??

I can't believe it is tomorrow, the time flew by! I think it is going to be a long night for me!

Can my Sisters confirm what I need to do and bring to the hospital by tomorrow Noon? I know I will forget something!! Thanks to all and see you on the other side!!

Re: Am I ready??

Hello CapeMay2,

I had my surgery two weeks ago today also at 2pm, but I stayed two nights in the hospital.

I took a bunch of stuff, but really only used the lip balm, peppermint candies (for gas, icky mouth taste, and upset tummy), my brush, toothpaste and toothbrush, and phone. I also used shower stuff because I was there two days and showered before leaving. I also wore the clothes home that I wore to the hospital but changed to granny panties and my own pads, the hospital ones were huge!

I will say having my reading materials, nightgown, robe and slippers made me feel secure although I didn't even unpack them.

Re: Am I ready??

What I took: comb, panties, pads, tummy pillow, abdominal binder, phone, book, notebook with pen, clean socks and plastic bag for dirty undies and socks. I arrived in the clothes I planned to wear home.

What I used: everything but the book (too distracted and unfocused to read) and used the binder only once for a short time.

What I wish I had taken: Chap stick and saline nasal spray (hospital air was so dry)

I used the the hospital provided gowns, robes, soap and other stuff. I got clean gowns as needed, the changes felt good and I didn't have all that laundry to bring home. Besides, the hospital gowns make it easier for the staff to monitor you incisions and such.

The less you take, the less you have to keep rack of.

Re: Am I ready??

Mine is not until Dec 19 but I have packed as I have thought of things I might need. I did the basic deoderant, toothpaste, gown, robe, granny pantys, slippers, throat lozenges ( I have read they help with the sore throat that you wake up with) gas X and a phone charger. I may pack my Kindle but I doubt that I am focused enough to read. Good luck tomorrow!!!

Re: Am I ready??

The things I used: lip balm, fuzzy socks, iPhone and toothbrush. I wish I had taken my heating pad. I was told I would stay for one night but ended up staying for two. There was no way I could have read a book or cared about magazines. Reading my texts was plenty.
