Checked with my insurance; they said 23 hr. observation is considered "outpatient." However, as long as I'm at a provider facility and my surgeon is a plan provider (yes to both) it is up to my doctor to see how I'm doing and decide accordingly.

I am scheduled for TLH on Dec 29th and I too am only staying for observation for less that 24 hours.

Hi my surgery is tomorrow too. I was told the same thing, hopefully will be only staying one night and for insurance they consider it outpatient. Did you have to do bowel prep? I got one bottle of mag citrate down, then threw it all up. It's making me so sick. I'm not sure I can do the 2nd one. I'm afraid I'll be dehydrated by tomm if I try. It's yucky! Hope something good is on the menu tomm night at the hospital! lol I'm ready to eat!
