My robot count down, Dec 5th

Well I have 3 more days until the big one. No meds since Mon and have alot of pressure and pain. Any suggestions?
My bleeding has been minimal (not sure what that's all about) and I'm grateful. I've really been concerned about my recovery atleast the first week, not much help at home. So I've been really planning on everything myself. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

Rice bag in the microwave. the moist heat really is helping me. mine is scheduled for 12-6.

if you cant sew than get a cotton sock and fill with rice. 1-2 mins in the microwave..

best to you.

Re: My robot count down, Dec 5th

My surgery is Dec 5th as well! I say it is the day that I'm divorcing my uterus, ovaries & cervix.
I suffer chronic pain and have been trying to get everything done before I go in the hospital. I haven't been pacing myself as I ought to be. I've been at the mercy of a brutal migraine as a result. At this point the surgery may end up being the vacation
I'll be thinking of my fellow hyster-sisters that I will be marking this day with.

much humour & hugs to you

I'm sorry that you don't have much help at home. While I haven't had 'this' surgery before, I have had 2 c-sections. You need to look after you first and only. Go slow. I intend to rely on soup, oatmeal, yogurt, post surgery. Remember that the housework doesn't have to be done (as Erma Bombeck once said, "Dust is a protective covering") It isn't going anywhere and if you push yourself, you may end up back in the hospital. Perhaps stock up on frozen meals that you can microwave, soup etc - easy stuff. Make sure you have your meds at home ie: gas X, stool softener, painkillers etc ahead of time as you won't feel like shopping afterwards.

If you can get the assistance of a family member or friend, neighbor to help with cleaning for a couple weeks - do so. Otherwise - let it wait until you are stronger.

I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I must re-iterate - you come first when you get home for at least 2 weeks. No rationalizations, no yeh-but rabbits (yeh, but I gotta do this or that) I send you many hugs and hope to tag up with you after we see each other on the other side of surgery
