Re: Finally got my date set, but the bad news is...

For so many years it was thought that the good doctors were men.

Women doctors were so few and far between, mainly because people had the negative thinking.

In certain cities, certain races are popular.

I just refuse to give in to this "generalized" thinking.

Whether the doctor is male or female, black, white, Asian, Indian or "purple," it should not matter.

I agree with those that say that it doesn't matter.

Re: Finally got my date set, but the bad news is...

I've heard so many great stories about male doctors in the last few days that I'm going to open my mind and try to hope for the best.

I had a really horrible experience with a male gyno once. So bad that I didn't go for a pap with any doctor for almost 7 years after that. So I guess I'm very gunshy.

I do know that's silly, though. One bad egg doesn't taint the entire gender. It's a good opportunity to get over a fear that limits me in my life.

Thank you all so much for sharing your stories and for your encouragement. This place really is a life-saver.
