Things I'm Thinking About 3 Days Prior

These thoughts keep running through my mind as I get ready for Monday....why I'm happy Monday is the day:

No more bulky clothes to hide the depends.
No more hydrogen peroxide to get the blood stains out.
No more scrubbing my office chair after an accident.
No more white as a sheet face after a gushing incident.
No more walking backwards out of meetings so no one sees the mess.
No more conversation pauses when distracted by passing a very large clot.
No more ineffective pills (birth control, progesterone, etc.)
No more doubling over, crippling cramps.
No more towels down at bedtime to keep from ruining the mattress.
No more putting off doing fun things "until I feel better".
No more running home at lunch time to take a quick shower and change my ruined clothes.
No more having to explain for the hundreth time how many pads I've gone through in an hour.
No more advice nurses yawning through my tales of woe.
No more blood transfusions.
No more 90 day non stop bleeding events.
No more iron pills and stool softeners.
No more wasted weekends on the couch with my feet elevated hoping to slow the blood flow.
No more overnight, extra long pads stuffed in my office desk, glove box and purses.
No more sending my poor DH to the drugstore at midnight because I went through every stash of pads I had.
No more costco size containers of Ibprofin to handle the headaches and cramps.

I'm excited!

You'llwant to keep those stool softener on the list for just a little longer. They'llreally help after your surgery. It's just temporary though.

Good luck to you!

Oh my, I have just 1/3 of what you are going through and have had enough. No matter what, we can all relate to that feeling of standing up from your chair and wondering "now what do I do". My surgery is Dec. 7th, and my body decided to grace me with one more period. Of course, I have all these things I want to accomplish at home and gush everytime I move. Only us girls understand! Good luck in getting through these hard times to attain some peace.

Re: Things I'm Thinking About 3 Days Prior

Wow! I was just thinking some of the same things as I place the towel on my bed and pop a few more motrin... Just bought yet another box of overnights for what i so hope is he last time... My surgery is Dec 7 and pre-op is mon, Dec 5 so I am getting things ready and doing things around the house that I won't have the energy for after the surgery... Can't wait to be rid of the back and leg pains, the excruciating cramps, and the total exhaustion I feel from the bloodloss... I truly thank everyone for sharing their experiences and thoughts... I have learned so much that haz helped me ask the right questions and put my mind at ease...

Re: Things I'm Thinking About 3 Days Prior

I too am looking forward to my procedure. Especially after having to run for the bathroom every hour at work last night.

Best wishes for your procedure! See you on the post-op side soon!

Re: Things I'm Thinking About 3 Days Prior

I completely know where you are coming from...horrifying...humiliating...and sometimes when you wake up...it is like a murder scene...horrific!!

All that is coming to an end...

I had the bleeding and clotting taken care of by ablation in May '10...however, the pain during my period is excruciating...and that will be gone!!

I am also hoping the achy, heaviness and back pain that I have lived with for years will also be something of the past.

Best wishes for all of us heading to surgery this week and in the near future.
