Re: had surgery on the 22nd!! need advice

Hoping at this moment you are resting. Please call your doctor today - they should have someone on call today - and explain your symptoms. If you are bleeding to where you need to change a pad an hour it may be critical & ER may be required. Our bodies are all different & heal differently. Please call soon & let us know what the dr says. Hugs!

Re: had surgery on the 22nd!! need advice

You are doing way too much! Telling you that it will be the same recovery as for a tubal is a huge stretch in my opinion but then again, I am not a doctor. Please check out our hysterectomy checkpoints to help you know what you can do and what to expect during your recovery.

For my own recovery, my doctor told me to basically do nothing for 6 weeks aside from eating well, drinking lots, resting and a reasonable amount of walking. There was to be no lifting of anything heavier than 5 lbs.

You need to scale way back and rest. Your body is telling you that you are dong too much as soon as you feel that heavy feeling in the bottom of your tummy and the bleeding is definitely a sign of that. By the way, if you have increased pain and bleeding to the point where you are filling a pad in one hour, please go to the ER.

As to the crying, your ovaries have probably had their blood supply disrupted and until it gets reestablished, you will get mood swings. You can call your doctor and get temporary HRT to help you through this.

I hope you feel better soon.

Re: had surgery on the 22nd!! need advice

Would you rather be safe than sorry? If you have to go and it is nothing, at least your mind will be eased. I can't help you with the signs as my instructions were for an abdominal hyster. However, that being said, if you have a strong vaginal odour, you develop a temperature, fever or chills, and you are feeling especially unwell are a few that still would apply to you.

still in pain and bleeding red! a pad or 2 a day

I went to the doctors and told him I was bleeding he didn't seem to care and I have a burning in my lower abs, and really bad back pain, I admit I way over did it in the begging swept, mopped, dusted baseboard etc. laundry took care of my 3 kids alone however I'm afraid I may have done something really wrong what should I do and what do they do for inner stitches ripping.

Re: had surgery on the 22nd!! need advice (updated)

If you feel that the doctor is being unconcerned and unresponsive I would suggest that you look for another doctor. At the very least, go to your family doctor and talk to her/him about these issues.

Re: had surgery on the 22nd!! need advice (updated)

Sounds to me like you need to see someone urgently and explain to them that you have been carrying on your normal activities post-op (not your fault, you have been given *very wrong* information). I had my op a few days before you and I am only just starting to do very light duties around the house.

Re: had surgery on the 22nd!! need advice (updated)

Oh my, how can a dr. say that this is the same as a tubal.

I would go see another dr. right away. Even if everything is ok and you have just overdone it you need a dr. that is more compassionate.
