Re: Single - will I need help when I get home?

I had an LSH two weeks ago w ovaries removed. I came home the next day and my husband went out of town the day after. We have no children at home - just a dog. I was able to carefully bend down and feed the dog, take care of myself, etc, until he got home again. I had already cleaned the house, stocked the pantry, done the laundry, and changed the bed sheets, so I was prepared. I had people on call if I needed them, but I like to heal privately anyway. I was pretty darn comfortable. The only thing I forgot about that i could not do, was haul the trash cans in from the street after trash day. Everyone is different, so have a "plan B" in case you need it, but be optiistic. Getting a "nest" made either in your bedroom or favorite chair will be helpful in advance.

Re: Single - will I need help when I get home?

I wasn't planning to need help but had unexpected complications that changed my outpatient surgery to a 5 day hospital stay. Have a back up plan in case things don't go as planned. For me, at 2 weeks post op, I'm just now able to make myself meals. So having things that are easy to prepare is a must. I agree with all the tips above!

Best of luck!
