Re: please help 7 weeks post opp and sharp pains on left side

I'm not a doctor, so please consult with your doctor! But, I had similar pain after my hysterectomy and they told me it was due to the fact that they "tie" everything up more on one side and it was probably due to stitches pulling. I felt like someone had kicked me really hard several times on the one side after my surgery. I drove my doctor crazy the first few weeks after my surgery - they are used to it - so don't hesitate to call them and get their opinion!!!

Re: please help 7 weeks post opp and sharp pains on left side

When I had my issues, I spoke mostly with the nurse practitioner who was in contact with the doctor. My doctor was the same way, very hard to get in to see. I don't know how ER's are by you, but where I live, if you go to the ER, you'll spend a minimum of 12 hours there. It's ridiculous! I'd go with calling the office and talking to the nurse. If she/he thinks you need to be seen, either they'll squeeze you in or send you to the ER. My pain eventually settled down - it just took some time. Let me know how you're doing! Take care!

I'm post op for 8 weeks and I'm having terrible pains on my right side. My doc is sending me to an Urologist this Thursday. I also have pulling, throbbing, and just suffering!

Re: please help 7 weeks post opp and sharp pains on left side

I just had my LSH on 12/1 and I have a little tenderness on my right side. My Dr. actually asked ME if I had any pain on my sides after my surgery and I told him yes on my right side. He said it was probably due to a blood pocket. I will ask more about this at my post-op appt next week. Hugs.

Let me know what the doc says. I hope things get better for you because I still feel really bad right side pain. I went to the Urologist today and he's looking in it next week Thursday.
