Extreme pressure when peeing??

Hi Ladies! I went to the doctor today for my first appt. after surgery. My staples are all removed! I was able to ask all the questions I could think of at the time. However, I did forget to ask one question. I have a hard time telling when I have to pee. It just feels like a LOT of pressure in my belly when I have to go. And when I feel that pressure it means I have to go, and I have to go now! Then, as I am peeing, my whole stomach feels like it is going to come out with my pee! It is extreme pressure! It hurts it is so much pressure. It feels like my whole stomach is going to come out, and it being pushed completely flat! I will call tomorrow if it is something that is not suppose to be happening. I just wanted to get everyones opinions first. Please give me your thoughts!

Thank you!
Happy Recovery!

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

I would definitely call tomorrow, it sounds like you might have a UTI. In the meantime, drink lots and lots of fluids (I know, I know, it already feels like you have to pee all the time).

Good luck and keep us posted SillySister

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

UTI? Really? I drink water all day everyday. I do not drink sodas, or any thing other than water. I do not believe that I have ever had a UTI. How do the doctors find out if I have one or not? And what takes care of them??? Thanks!

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

I rarely drink soda and always drink lots and lots of water and I had one with almost the identical symptoms.
They can be introduced by the catheters they use during surgery
I am finishing up my antibiotics on Thursday and will go in for a follow-up urinalysis the next day.
It's a quick and easy test-especially as often as I have to pee! lol
Sure hope you get to feeling better soon!!!

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

Drink Cranberry Juice. There is something in the cranberries that does actually kill the uti (that may not be the only thing you want to do for it, but it definitely makes a big difference! and quickly too).

Hi Sillysister, if you had a catheter during surgery that can cause a UTI, I got a UTI 2wks after surgery...you go to lab and pee in cup and if it's positive they will give you antibiotics...hope your feeling better

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

I called my doctor and talked to the nurse. Hopefully they get back to me soon. I will let everyone know what is going on. Thanks for the support!

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

Definitely drink cranberry juice and see a doctor. A week or so on antibiotics will help.

Re: Extreme pressure when peeing??

I've been drinking cranberry juice since the day of my surgery, 1) because it's yummy, 2) because they had to remove adhesions from my bladder and I figured it couldn't hurt. Doc told me I'd have some bladder pain as a result, and I have, but it's not too bad and it's getting better. I'm sorry you've been feeling bad. I hope they get you taken care of and get you back on track.

Re: Extreme Stinging/pressure when peeing.

Two weeks ago today I just had the davinci surgery. Everything has been pretty easy up until yesterday. I started feeling extreme stinging/pressure right before I have to go pee and during. Right after I am done I feel ok. I do NOT feel like I have to keep peeing. I've been reading quite of few of these but none to where I have read that they have the same ending to when they are done peeing.
I have had UTI's before but this does not really feel the same. I have been drinking plenty of water and some cranberry juice. If anyone has any advice, It would be greatly appreciated. Hope every one of you are doing well.
