Five Days down

Hello everyone, I had my complete hysterectomy last Friday through laparoscopic incisions. I was very happy to wake up and find only three small holes, which were bonded with glue. While they were doing this surgery they also found that I have I.C., in my bladder, which was also treated at the time. I am still in pain which is somewhat surprising for me, since the surgery was done with the smaller incisions. I have been listening to the doctor and taking it very easy. My husband has been doing everything for me which has really helped. The only thing that I am bit confused with is a small lump or bulge on my lower spine. I noticed this last night, I thought maybe it was from my positioning in the chair, but I am not sure. Has anyone else had this? Could just be a muscle spasm, I would think, but I don’t know. Also when I go to the bathroom I have these small slug like bowl movements, which is not normal for me. Is this all normal? I am sure that it is but I have just been through so much these past couple of months, I think I am just worried over nothing.

Re: Five Days down

You are not alone. I am having pains over my left breast when I breathe in so I am freaking out about this. Is it gas pains 6 days post surgery? The small slug like bowel movements are normal, especially if you are taking percocet since that constipates you. I am finally having normal BMs today, yeah!!! Not sure about your lump, I heard sometimes you have sore muscles from the way they position you on the table for surgery so maybe it can be a musle spasm?? Once again, not a Dr. but I hate not knowing what is going on with my body!! If I am still feeling this pain over my Left Breast tomorrow, I think I will call my Dr. Also, to top things off, I think my son might have strep throat so is that also risky for me since only having surgery 6 days ago?? My blood count dropped to 8.1 after surgery so I am nervous about catching anything that comes down the pike. Keep me posted okay? Hugs to you.
