No Cervix - Do You Feel 'Twinges' or 'Pinches'?

I thought I would write to see if others feel 'pinches' or 'twinges' in the vaginal cuff area. My GYN says everything is healing fine but I still get painful pinches from time to time.

Any ideas what causes this?

No idea what causes it except I was told inflammation from surgery. It only lasted about 3 or 4 wks.

I am guessing there is still healing even when the Dr says it 'looks fine' - I'm at 7wks post op - still healing is my guess.

Thank you for your feedback.

Re: No Cervix - Do You Feel 'Twinges' or 'Pinches'?

I'm dead sure I was still having those twingy pinchy feelings at 7 weeks and even 1-2 weeks later, even though I had an internal exam at 6 weeks and was told my cuff wound was perfectly healed.
I do think it takes a long time for this area to recover completely. I was well over other abdominal pain far earlier than in the area where my cervix was. I guess it's nerve damage or something.
At 3 1/2 months I'm fine there now, and I'm sure you will be too, soon. But I did worry a bit!

Re: No Cervix - Do You Feel 'Twinges' or 'Pinches'?

I would guess that the twinges might be coming from nerves healing... that's an extremely painful process in other parts of the body, with a pretty wide range of sensation... so why not there?

Yes I am 5 weeks post op and I have it too. It must be the healing.

I'm glad u asked this question. I am almost 6 weeks po and started feeling this too. It does take a long time to heal internally for sure. Best of luck to you all.

Thank you. Peace of mind. Felt like the recovery pains & twinges were 'in my head' when I got the 'all clear' from my dr. I really appreciate the feedback. Its great to hear that the recovery 'symptoms' are shared and make me feel 'normal' ;-)

Re: No Cervix - Do You Feel 'Twinges' or 'Pinches'?

I think it is normal. Look at the changes to our body. Once there was a cervix that acted like the part of a balloon that you blew into, and that lead to your uterus. Now that is gone and there is a hole that leads to an open area inside your tummy. The doctor had to cut and stitch us a vaginal cuff to close that hole off. Our bodies have changed so now it must adjust and heal.
